On Saturday, September 26, the Annual Conference and General Assembly of the Catholic Bar Association will conclude with the Red Mass and a dinner banquet hosted by the St. Thomas More Society of the Diocese of Dallas. This year's honoree will be United States Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Justice Kavanaugh will receive the St. Thomas More Award and will give an address at the dinner.

Red Mass and Banquet

Red Mass

The Red Mass will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 5:00 PM at the National Shrine Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The Most Reverend Edward Burns, Bishop of the Diocese of Dallas, will preside. 

The Red Mass is open to the public. Members of the legal profession are encouraged to attend.


Banquet

A dinner banquet will be held immediately following the Red Mass at the J.W. Marriott Dallas Arts District, 800 North Harwood Street in Dallas. 

Those wishing to attend only the Red Mass dinner banquet may register through the website of the St. Thomas More Society of Dallas.

FAQ

Where is the conference being held?

The conference will be held at One Arts Plaza, 1722 Routh Street, Dallas, Texas 75201.

Will I receive continuing legal education (CLE) credits for the conference?

We expect to apply for Continuing Legal Education credits for eligible sessions. CLE approval will be sought in Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Texas, and in any other state in which three or more conference attendees, if registered by August 15, 2026, are licensed. Additionally, California, New York, and New Jersey attorneys may apply for credit for an out-of-state course from an approved jurisdiction. We do not at this time have an estimate of the number of CLE credit hours for which we will apply. We will update this information as it becomes available.

The CBA provides supporting documentation to assist attorneys licensed in other states with self-reporting in their jurisdictions. Requests for assistance obtaining CLE credit approval may be sent to info@catholicbar.org.

What is included in the conference registration?

Standard registrations include attendance for two days of the conference, with breakfast and lunch on those days, as well as a reservation for the Red Mass dinner banquet. One-day passes and student registrations do not include reservations for the Red Mass dinner banquet.

What is the conference schedule?

The Conference generally starts at 8:30 AM on both Friday and Saturday. The Friday session generally concludes around 5 PM and the Saturday session will end at around 3 PM, with the Red Mass at 5 PM and the dinner banquet to follow. A welcome reception will be held at approximately 5 PM on Thursday and a reception will follow the conclusion of the conference sessions on Friday. Dinner on Thursday and Friday will be on your own.

What is the dress code for the conference?

Typically, conference attendees observe business attire on Friday and business casual on Saturday.

What is the dress code for the Red Mass and dinner banquet?

Business or cocktail attire.

What happens if I have to cancel my registration?

The conference registration is 100% refundable through September 3, 2026.

After September 3, 2026, a cancellation fee of $50 will be deducted from any refund issued.

After September 20, 2026, no refunds are given.

You should arrange and manage your hotel reservation separately. Please consult your hotel reservation confirmation for details on the hotel's cancellation policy.

When and where is the Red Mass?

The Red Mass will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 5:00 PM at the National Shrine Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, located at 2215 Ross Avenue in Dallas. The Red Mass is open to the public. Members of the legal profession are encouraged to attend.

May I attend the Red Mass dinner banquet without attending the conference?

Yes. Those wishing to attend only the Red Mass dinner banquet may register through the website of the St. Thomas More Society of Dallas.

I will be driving to the conference. Where can I park at One Arts Plaza?

There is a parking garage at the rear of the building. Additional details will be shared closer to the conference date.

When will the speaker schedule be available?

We are working with our speakers to accommodate their schedules. We will announce the schedule and other conference details in the summer.
